Proton Reavels New 32" LCD TV with HDMI Connetivity and 37" LCD TV for European Market
The 37” LCD TVs use proprietary technologies to re-define the entire viewing experience and provide the best in class picture quality. The Hi-Def Visual processor, exclusively in Proton’s LCD TV, is to tweak the video performance in 1080i/720p mode, making the video presentation and color system in very fine detail and even focused without blurring. It also deploys a highly complex digital focus processor to reprocess twice the analog signals (480i or 576i) to enhance the video’s edges and sharpness so the analog programs (480i or 576i) can remain in crystal-clear quality even from traditional TV.

The other piece of proprietary technology, OverScan, gives consumers more viewing picture for their money. Proton's LCD TVs extend the viewing picture by 5 percent, meaning that images usually cut off by normal TVs are clearly visible on Proton's screens.

The 32” LCD TV features HDMI, HD component video, RGB SCART, DVI-D and RGB inputs, the flexibilities of all these video inputs, especially the HDMI connectivity, make the LCD TV compliance to the new European HDTV standards. “We make sure all consumers in Europe are buying the right future-proof LCD TV with HDMI connectivity, as this is already required by satellite pay-TV companies who are ready to broadcast 1080i programs in Europe this year or 2006”, said James Tao, the executive vice president at Proton Electronics.

The multi-system PAL tuner is bespoke to comply the entire European PAL-DKI, BG and SECAM system and had been field-tested successfully in Germany, United Kingdom and Denmark. Analog Teletext is supported for 250 pages.

A TFT LCD display provides optimum image definition and 2-2 pull-down progressive scanning technology is utilized to ensure a flicker-free image from DVD sources. A separate digital 4-line comb filter negates dot crawl and color interferences, delivering an extremely realistic image quality.
