| Our Vision |
| Embracing the Digital
Era |
| Information technology has evolved
rapidly since the 60s. It has successfully become an integrated
part of our daily lives. This information revolution has
also created a new wave among home electronics manufacturers,
propelling them to develop products combined with more
advanced IT technology. The new wave has made the IT home
electronics the new mainstream, replacing the previous
trend dominated by semiconductors and personal computers. |

| Combining Home Electronics
with Pioneering IT Technology |
In the 1980s, Proton used its
mature image processing techniques to produce the first
series of Hi Fi color TV, and achieved a new standard for
television design and quality. As more technological improvements
were achieved, Proton's R & D team took the initiative
on digital TV and other related products. Our team not
only developed new products to satisfy customer demands,
but also aggressively initiated technological cooperation
with other industries, unifying our working platform. These
technological strategies allowed Proton to combine IT technology
with home electronic design and manufacture, making our
products more competitive than ever.
IT home electronics have become the mainstream of both IT industry
and the home electronics field in recent years. Although most
manufacturers are aware of this development, they lack the
technology to deliver the kind of advanced products that consumers
need. Equipped with expert knowledge of market trends as well
as technology, Proton is able to develop and market IT home
electronics products with a user-friendly interface to satisfy
our consumers, and supply more convenience to their daily lives.
"Virtue first for men, and quality first for product" , is the unchanging
belief of our founder, Mr. C. C. Hong, and this belief is incorporated within
our management strategy and the development of employee benefits. We believe
our employees are the best assets of Proton, and so we are diligently working
to offer the most comprehensive package for our staff. Proton is not only the
company that brings better lives for consumers; it is also the spiritual home
of its employees. |

| Transformation |
With the introduction of IT technology,
IT home electronics has become the mainstream of the industry.
The newly introduced digital TV is becoming a one-way broadcasting
channel, and, in conjunction with more mature signal reception
technology and more relaxed regulations, a new network
loop is being formed. This new development will bring even
more new applications and business opportunities to the
home electronic industry, and make IT home electronics
more important than ever in all households.
Proton has foreseen this leading trend and taken the initiative
to combine our expertise on home electronics manufacturing
and marketing to introduce IT electronics to the families of
21st century.
The major difference between IT home electronics and conventional
home appliances is in the digitalization of information and
Internet connections. To Proton, the technology is not the
major barrier in this home electronic revolution; we believe
that by combining more powerful and unique software design
with our expertise, Proton can bring more value to our products,
thereby continuing to possess the competitive edge in the new
digital era. |
